Star Music artist RJ Agustin is about to release his second single under Star Music, “Sana Hindi Na Lang Kita Minahal”.
During a set visit of his music video shoot, RJ shared with PUSH the inspiration of his new song. “This one is about failed relationship, to the point na ayaw mo nang masaktan. When I heard the song somehow naka-relate ako. Lahat naman tayo especially pag matured ka na nagkaka-experience ka na ng mgaheartbreaks, gano’n,” he said.
When asked if he was open to collaborations with local artists, he said, “Of course, matagal ko na yang gusto, si KZ Tandingan. Even when we were talking about my next single, after this one, napag-usapan namin about doing a collab.
“Whenever she sings, mararamdaman mo yung kwento niya eh. Hindi lang siya singer, story teller siya. Yun yung pinaka-appreciate,” he said.
“Sana Hindi Na Lang Kita Minahal” will be RJ’s second single after releasing “Seryoso Na Pala” last year, the music video for which featured Star Magic artist Michelle Vito.
The 24-year old singer, who was first seen on TV as an actor in 2013, is the son of the veteran director Arturo “Boy” San Agustin – the director of the famous Fernando Poe Jr. film Kapag Puno Na Ang Salop. RJ’s dad passed away last June 2018 at the age of 70.
RJ told PUSH that his passion for music is something he always dedicates to his late father. “Alam mo ba habang kumakanta ako non, kahit malungkot ako, nararamdaman ko na yun ang gusto niyang gawin ko,” he said while explaining why he continued one of his shows last year at the Arellano University, a day after his father’s wake. “Because commitment ko ‘yun e. Commitment ko yun sa mga tao,” he added.
The “Sana Hindi Na Lang Kita Minahal” music video will be released soon on the Star Music YouTube Channel. RJ will also announce the full details of his campus tour shows for 2019 on his social media accounts
